Worried about frame flex?

The TrailerSaver hitch connects to whatever kingpin the manufacturer installed and, therefore, does not put undue stress on the pin box or frame because the trailer pivots at the location it was intended.  Read more here

Product Manuals and Videos

TrailerSaver BD5 Manual

Isn’t an air-ride pinbox just as effective as a TrailerSaver hitch?

Although an air-ride pinbox will offer some cushioning effect on the trailer, other more pronounced effects such as chucking will be amplified, particularly during starts and stops.

In addition to performance you must consider how long you might own the existing 5th wheel as the air-ride pinbox must match the hole-pattern of your existing trailer and are usually non-transferable to a different trailer.

Why not just get an air-ride suspension instead?

An air-ride suspension is fantastic for keeping your rig level and for maintaining a constant drive line angle; however, the air suspension actually increases the stiffness of the suspension at the point of connection between the trailer and truck. With less give at the point of connection, the road stress that leads to trailer damage is increased making the need for the TrailerSaver that much greater.

Is an anti-chucking pinbox attachment compatible with the TrailerSaver?

Many of the popular anti-chucking pinbox attachments are compatible with the TrailerSaver, however, many have found they don’t need such attachments as the TrailerSaver eliminates all fore and aft chucking without such devices.

With the weight of the TrailerSaver TS3, how could I possibly get this out of my truck?

Although some people have access to an engine hoist, cherry picker, or tractor to lift the hitch out of the bed, many do not. The easiest way to remove the TS3 is to simply detach all 4 detent pins from the hitch rails, raise the trailer jacks, and allow the TS3 to stay attached to the pin of the trailer.

Is an air-ride hitch with 4 airbags better than a TrailerSaver?

Many hitch systems offer unique towing properties and the TrailerSaver design is the result of many years of towing experience, testing, and real world use. A four airbag hitch is designed to allow the hitch head to move on the airbags in any direction based on articulation from the trailer itself. The result of such erratic and continuous motion results in a feeling of instability as well as increased chucking and surging forces form the trailer on the truck. In addition to the movement from the trailer, the 4 airbag hitch must support 100% of the pin weight, reducing the effectiveness of any potential cushion effect from the air springs.

If I am on a trip and lose all air pressure will I be stranded?

The TrailerSaver is designed to effectively tow with or without air pressure. If you happen to loose air-pressure, just continue to tow and you are in no danger of compromising the hitch or your trailer. When you arrive at a destination simply contact Hensley Mfg. and our friendly tech support department will assist you with correcting the problem and if necessary ship any replacement parts you may need.

Why should I spend this much money on a product I have not seen in person?

The TrailerSaver is represented at retail locations across the U.S. and Canada; however, most of our sales are factory direct. Factory direct purchases are backed by an unconditional money back guarantee and in most states is sales-tax free. With TrailerSaver products on the shelf and ready to ship at any time, most customers receive their hitch in 3 days or less.

Do I need a certified dealer to install my TrailerSaver?

Because TrailerSaver hitches are designed to mount either into industry standard rails or factory OEM underbed mounts, most customers simply need to place the hitch into mounts already installed in the bed of the truck eliminating the need for dealer installation. The bolt-down hitches for medium duty trucks are often installed by individuals or any professional hitch installer. With our simple and well written installation manual most hitch installers find installation of a TrailerSaver very easy compared with other products.

What a fantastic hitch!!

I was skeptical about getting this hitch. I have used Curt and Resse hitches in the past and was considering switching to one with more shock absorbance. I have been towing RVs for over 30 years and am on my fourth 5th wheel RV.

I tried Sumo springs and a Mor-ryde pin box, but this made the most significant improvement in ride quality and handling.

I have a 2021 GMC 3500, and one of the issues I have struggled with is the clearance from the bed rails to the trailer. The hitch has about 5000 miles of travel time. It was towed to Georgia and Tennessee in the first couple of months of ownership. I have noticed a significant improvement in towing and ride quality.

The four benefits for me are:
1. Ride quality improvement
2. Increased bed rail to trailer clearance
3. Ride height adjustability. I have a steep incline to overcome. I deflate the bags, providing enough clearance so I don't scrape.
4. Easiest hitch to hook and unhook. It's so simple and never jams or gets stuck.

I pull a 19K, 43' fifth wheel, and you see the airbags working as I drive down the road. I was shocked at the noticeable difference when using this hitch.

It does take a bit more maintenance to ensure everything is greased up well, which takes a whopping 10 minutes every couple of months.

It also fits under my bak-flip cover, so it is out of the elements at camp.

It is heavy! Watch the video to hoist it in and out of the vehicle.

Everyone has opinions on what they find necessary. The hitch is costly and took me a long time to justify. After my issues with the frame of my Grand Design, I did not want to risk stressing the pin box again on my new trailer.

The sales team answered all my questions and addressed any concerns.

Happy Trailering!!!
