I bought a used Hensley Arrow and needed new u bolts. Exactly what I needed.
We are very satisfied with our hitch for our toy hauler. Before we installed it the pulling was definitely scary to say the least. It took some time getting used to hooking it up, but after some practice we were able to conquer the process. We would recommend this hitch to others pulling a camper.
I replaced my spring bar grease fittings, since they were 5 years old, I feel this is preventative maintenance. I will keep the old ones in case I have a problem with the ones on the hitch. Thanks,
On my second set of shocks due to leaking and not working. Is there a fix for this problem?
Hi there, we're sorry to hear about the issue with the shocks. We'll be contacting you Monday to fix the issue.
I purchased the hitch late last year ('25), and didn’t have the opportunity to put it to use until our trip last month.
You always hear people rave about products, but I tend to take that with a grain of salt, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. My previous setup used the factory Ford 5th‑wheel hitch (a Reese product, I believe). It worked fine mechanically, but the ride was harsh—especially through construction zones or over bridge transitions.
My current setup is an F‑350 dually towing an Alliance Paradigm 385.
We just completed a 3‑week, 3,750‑mile road trip, and I am absolutely blown away by the comfort of this hitch. We encountered plenty of rough roads, and not once did the hitch disappoint. Hitching and unhitching is effortless, and with the included tools, I no longer have to climb onto a rear tire to reach everything.
This is a fantastic product—exceptional build quality and a dramatic improvement in ride comfort. I’m extremely impressed.
We had our first set of these that came with our Hensley hitch in 2018. We love them. I sold the trailer and unfortunately gave away our wheel chocks with the trailer. New paragraph we really missed them.
We were very happy they were available still and will enjoy them again with our new trailer.
The Hensley Ultimate Arrow hitch seems to be a well made and very functional anti-sway trailer hitch. Took a bit of time to install appropriately. Instructions that come with it are fine however, using a few of the YouTube videos clarified a few of the steps.
This tool works but I have the hitch mounted in a FL60 so if it was longer it would work better for my application. Possibly having different lengths to select based on application would be nice.
Hi Ginger, thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your suggestion about offering different handle lengths. We'll consider this for future improvements. Glad the tool works for you!
I have the bd3 hitch and once you pull a fifth wheel with one you will be so amazed at how smooth with no chucking and a amazing ride. My wife loves the difference.
The Gooseneck adapter works great. I would like to make one suggestion. Your units to not have a solid anchor for the Safety chains. If you added an anchor point on top of the locking lugs it would be a big safety improvement. Longer threads, Eyelet threaded on and pinned.
Hi Dean, thank you for your great feedback and suggestion! We'll consider adding an anchor point for improved safety. Glad the adapter works well for you!
I have a 2020 38ft toy hauler and tow it with a 2017 F250 powerstroke. It came with a normal weight distribution hitch and did alright until highway speeds. The wind and traffic just pushed trailer and truck all over the road. The drive was very stressful on me and my family. After installing the Hensley arrow, I towed the trailer on a 2.5hr trip and towed like a dream! Had zero sway on the highway and passing tractor trailers. This is the most stable and safe hitch to tow a large camper with. It was very easy to install. Hooking to truck took a couple times to get used too but its very simple as well. This hitch is worth every penny! Would 10/10 recommend to anyone thinking of making there towing experience safer and less stressful. Customer service is excellent also!
Should be made of better material, this is my cover in nine years.
Hi Alvin, thanks for your feedback. We appreciate your loyalty over the years and will consider your suggestion for better material. If you have any other ideas or questions, feel free to reach out!
i think the new valve solved the leaking issue
I just returned from a 2000 mile RV trip using the Hensley Ultimate Arrow! My 16000 lb RV was stable in 50+ mph crosswinds. Never had any sway.
Mike was very helpful with my install and mailed longer U brackets for my trailer. He also provided advice for connecting the Hensley to my tow vehicle. It is important to align the stinger in 3 dimensions in order to have an easy connection. First, make sure the jacks are loose. Then park the tow vehicle 2-3 inches in front of the Hensley. You must back up SQUARELY (90 degrees) to the hitch. If your vehicle is not square, it's almost impossible to connect. Next, raise or lower tongue jack to center the stinger, and adjust the pitch of the Hensley with the screw jacks - this is very important if you are on a slope. Finally, back up a few inches, and use the tongue jack to make sure the stinger is centered. You need to be centered in all 3 planes, or hookup is very difficult. Once I figured this out, connecting is super easy.
I'm very glad I decided to purchase this hitch! It's worth every penny.
Works as advertised, stated and promised. Great customer service and lifetime warranty.
I've owned many different campers over the years. I had towed them with a no-frills "Husky" load leveling hitch system (with a friction type sway control)...and was almost always white-knuckling our way to destinations. As time went by our campers got bigger and our travel ambitions went further. It was on one of these adventures that I was worn out from high winds and the battle to stay in my lane. One of the other campers made mention of the Hensley hitch and suggested I watch the videos...I did. That began deeper research and conversations with Hensley and the decision to give it a try on 1/27/2020. At first it was a little daunting...lots of pieces and some exacting measurements along with some heavy lifting. Fortunately the manual was/is thorough and we got it properly mounted. I had heard that the actual hitching the camper can be a bit of a process and that remains true...but once you've become accustomed to it things go together easily. At that time we were towing a 37ft 9,600lb 2018 Puma with a Ram 5.7L 1500. We had made a few trips using the old Husky so I had plenty of experience towing that large camper and knew what to expect...well, no I didn't. That Hensley system changed the character of towing that beast by 180 degrees. We had planned a trip from Georgia to South Dakota after mounting the hitch...and from the first mile the difference was AMAZING...there is no other word for it. For the first time in my towing history I relaxed the death-grip on the wheel, stopped holding my breath for every 18-Wheeler and overpass and actually saw some of the country. At the end of that 3,210 mile odyssey I'd become a huge fan and unpaid spokesman for these hitches. Hey, never keep a good thing to yourself! Many of the other campers we talked with had heard of the Hensley and were put off by the price saying it's just too expensive...I asked them what their 'Peace of Mind' is worth. We have just traded the old Puma and though we downsized a bit, the Hensley went straight to the new Toy Hauler after a coat of fresh paint and grease. Because of the change I required a different Hitch Bar so I reached out to Hensley to take advantage of their "Hitch Bar Exchange" and shared some of my camping stories and was asked to leave a review. It's often difficult to truly find the "BEST" in a product...until you've towed with the old style hitch systems then moved to a Hensley, then you'll know the best system and towing you've ever had, no contest.
I looked back over what I've written and it sounds like a commercial...it isn't. I'm retired Navy turned HVAC company owner that likes campers and travel. No kidding, these hitches can make the towing part of the journey enjoyable too. Cheers!
When I first found out about this hitch, I was hesitant because of the price that goes along with it. But the more research I did, and after almost tipping with a standard hitch on a highway. I knew I had to either continue as is or discontinue Camping. I pull a 24’ Lance Trailer.
Ended up purchasing the Hensley and have used it 4 times already and I must admit it is the best investment I’ve made having this Travel Trailer. I feel so much safer now traveling and pulling than I did before. Where I had two hands on the steering wheel holding tight, now I can drive with two fingers to steer if I want.
I would recommend the Hensley hitch to anyone who has experience sway as I did, and to feel safer out on the road traveling.
I’m so glad I came across your product. Mike your salesman was awesome.
Quality hardware parts. Security in having then on hand for quick repair!
Have used it twice sense receiving. It was very helpful. Would recommend for every Hensley owner.
