Here’s how:

Sway Elimination vs. Sway Control: A friction-based hitch tries to manage sway by using resistance to limit side-to-side movement, but it doesn’t prevent sway from occurring in the first place. The Hensley Arrow, on the other hand, eliminates sway entirely by using its unique strut design system, ensuring your trailer remains stable regardless of external forces like wind or passing trucks.

No Compromise on Maneuverability: While friction-based systems restrict movement in an attempt to control sway, this can also limit your ability to steer and stabilize your trailer effectively. The Hensley Arrow doesn’t rely on friction, so you maintain full control over your vehicle and trailer without compromise.

Sway is anytime the trailer pivots at a different angle than your tow vehicle. 

Many things, like big trucks passing, can cause it, such as how the trailer is loaded or just unexpected wind.  Some new vehicles come with “Sway Control” built in.  But that, like other hitches on the market are reactionary.  You WILL still feel sway.  And it can get out of control in the blink of an eye once it’s started! 

The Arrow hitch LOCKS OUT sway entirely.  To prevent trailer sway, you need to stop the side-to-side forces before they ever start. Proper weight distribution, correct tongue weight (10–15%), and balanced loading all help—but the most effective solution is using a sway elimination hitch. Unlike friction-based sway control systems that only react after sway begins, a true sway elimination design (like the Hensley Arrow®) locks the trailer and tow vehicle into a stable geometry that prevents sway entirely, even in crosswinds, passing semis, or emergency maneuvers. You should use an anti-sway hitch anytime you tow a ball mount trailer, especially if you experience sway from wind, passing traffic, uneven roads, or incorrect loading.
