Safety
The Hensley Arrow® mechanically locks sway out and creates an inherently stable relationship between your trailer and tow vehicle. Thus, you can confidently handle uneven road conditions, wind gusts, passing trucks, and steep downhill grades.

All hitch models and parts are in stock and ready to ship the day you order, shipping from our Michigan, USA, production plant to your doorstep within a few days. No waiting days or weeks to fill an order.

Design
The secret of the Hensley Arrow® rests in its patented converging linkage design. The Arrow allows movement on the ball in every direction except side-to-side. Side-to-side movement is forced to go through the linkage system which is one-directional. From the trailer side, the linkage is solid. Pivoting by the linkage must be initiated through the tow vehicle. The system’s design is inherently stable. Best of all, it functions mechanically without the use of friction, so it exhibits consistent and predictable behavior regardless of changes in weather or road conditions.

Construction
The Arrow is constructed with careful attention to detail and is continuously checked to ensure that the highest quality is maintained throughout the manufacturing process. It is made to last as long as you tow.

Solid Steel Construction
Heavy-duty spring bars and jacks. Tapered roller axle bearings, seated in hardened bearing races, packed with grease, and sealed from moisture.

Corrosion Protection
All main components of the Hensley Arrow are protected by a powder paint process. Powder paint is the strongest, most durable paint coating for equipment exposed to the elements.  We are committed to offering a premium product with long-lasting coatings and have made significant changes to enhance paint adhesion in our process.

What is the difference between the Hensley Arrow® and ProPride 3P®?

When comparing the Hensley Arrow® and the ProPride 3P® hitch for sway elimination, both stand out due to their unique linkage systems, which transfer the pivot point forward from the trailer coupler, preventing uncontrollable sway caused by side forces.

While both systems excel in this aspect, they differ in design regarding preventing trailer movement at the ball and coupler. The ProPride employs an underframe yoke system, while the Hensley Arrow® utilizes adjustable strut assemblies.

The advantage of the strut system lies in its easy adjustability without tools, ensuring perfect stability by eliminating any trailer movement caused by tolerance at the ball/coupler. In terms of hitch bars, while ProPride offers an adjustable option suitable for various vehicle heights, Hensley provides both adjustable and fixed hitch bars, offering users the choice between convenience and lighter weight with no maintenance. Ultimately, Hensley aims to offer flexibility and choice, continually improving manufacturing to meet customer preferences.  Read more here.

How do you properly use weight distribution with a Hensley?

Weight distribution with a Hensley is easy. The weight distribution aspect of the hitch is completely separate from the sway elimination aspect of the hitch.

Even if you forgot to pull up the weight distribution, your trailer will NEVER sway.

When you set up your weight distribution, you are looking for a couple things. You want to minimize the bouncing between your truck and trailer, and you want to have good, firm, positive steering.

Read your owner’s manual carefully for instructions on first setting up your weight distribution.   If you use an air lift system in your truck, inflate those first to where you like them to be. Then use the weight distribution to get a good ride.

Will a bigger truck reduce trailer sway?

    Understanding Trailer Sway

Trailer sway, the side-to-side motion that can occur while towing, is caused by factors such as wind, road conditions, weight distribution, and hitch configuration. Addressing these elements directly, rather than depending on vehicle size alone, is essential for effective sway control.

    Weight Distribution and Balance

Stability begins with proper weight distribution inside the trailer. Ideally, 10-15% of the trailer’s weight should rest on the hitch. A weight distribution hitch can help achieve this balance and enhance towing stability.

Choosing the Right Hitch for Ultimate Control

The quality and setup of your hitch play a crucial role in preventing sway. Opting for a sway elimination hitch, such as the Hensley Arrow®, manages both sway control and weight distribution, giving you a safer, smoother towing experience.

No need for a specialized truck to tow safely! Just ensure you’re within your vehicle’s towing limits, and with a Hensley Arrow, you can eliminate trailer sway and enjoy a worry-free adventure.

    Semi-truck suck eliminated

My experience with the purchase of the Hensley Arrow hitch has been nothing but positive. From the consult with a sales rep to confirm the proper receiver configuration, installation and travelling over 1500 miles. The product arrived on time and neatly packaged. The installation was not difficult due to the detailed direction provided. After travelling 1500 miles (test run) I can honestly say the hitch does everything they advertise. It has eliminated fishtailing that is all too familiar with towing a travel trailer. The most noticeable characteristic is the elimination of what I call truck suck with semi-trucks passing you. If you have towed travel trailers you know what I am talking about. The hooking and unhooking of setup does have a little learning curve. You need to be more aware of terrain due to having to insert stinger into receiver as opposed to dropping onto a ball. I know some people may bulk at price but totaled vehicles or loss of life is way more costly. Now I get to safely get to enjoy the fruits of travel.

    Hensley's Excellent Customer Service

After towing with our Hensley Arrow for 15 trouble free years we encountered our first problem since owning this awesome hitch. With a deer camp trip hanging in the balance, we reached out to Hensley with our issue and they were able to get us in same day for warranty replacement. They certainly lived up to their no questions asked Lifetime Warranty!

A special thanks to Aaron, Jake, and Jason for keeping 2024 Deer Camp alive and getting us back on the road!

    Thank you!

A Hensley hitch has quietly ‘equalized’ our Airstream for well over sixteen years; that she is a ‘marvel of engineering’, there is no doubt. I was blissfully unaware of the Hensley’s mechanics until the day came when either I stepped up to the task or my RV’ing days were over.
Enter Hensley’s other powerhouse; Mike in customer service. Mike took me from someone who was afraid of the hitch and had zero mechanical knowledge to a reasonably competent owner, one’s who loves maintaining it, relishes opportunities to ‘hook and unhook’ and travelling … is such a pleasure.
Customer Service of the calibre I received from Mike … competent, professional, generous, patient, a knack for understanding the real problem and a clear, concise way of explaining what needed to be done, and why … is uncommon and exceptional. Customer Service that sets Hensley Mfg far apart from anything I’ve known and I, am so grateful!

    Reliable Hensley

I have only towed a short distance so far with this hitch, but seems to be as reliable as my other Hensley over 10 years ago.

    No Sway- Lots of peace.

I have had my Arrow for about four years now and its on its second trailer-soon to be third. Honestly I will not be without it. Sure its expensive- if you live through an accident pullling a trailer its cheaper than the deductible. Its a pain to get used to hitching up but once you get the hang of it its great. Added bonus better turning radius while backing in. Never worry about dropping the tail gate and dinging your tail gate.

Here is where I became a believer- Pulling to Yellowstone in 45 mph winds front and side at 65-70 it was like dragging a rock not a sway, weave or shimmy. I had tractor trailer drivers asking on the radio what I had don to my trailer to get it to pull like that. They were pulling off while I was strait as an arrow. Until then I actually thought maybe I feel for a sales job. That moment I knew I made the right call. Pay once- cry once but you will not regret it after you get used to hitching. The whole team there is great Mike and Sydney are very knowledgable and happy to walk you through about anything.
